Race cancelled July 3rd and 4th

Race was cancelled, the next Dixie race at this is currently October 10th.

If anyone has a track you would like to see us race at please drop suggestions here, if you have current contact for any that would be gladly accepted. There are several tracks I have been unable to find good contact information to.

I will be contacting venues this week trying to drum up some more DIXIE races!

This is most unfortunate. I see both the track's position and the racer's position too. My car was loaded (as well as several others) and we were ready to head for the track today, when word of the cancellation came. Dixie's past experience shows "Fest's" and dragracing just don't seem to mix. At a fest, the crowd is not there to see a race, they are there to party - and they can (and have) become belligerent and unruly, if not closely controlled by the track & law officers. The racers have to put up with a lot side action at a "fest" which has absolutely nothing to do with racing. A fest doesn't draw a drag race crowd & apparently never will. The racers are there for one thing, the crowd for another.

To my knowledge, none of the above problems has ever happened at Twiggs though. Would it have? I kinda' doubt it personally. I always enjoy running at Twiggs and like their track personnel - and if the track is prepped right, it can be quite good. I would bet money we would have had a better track surface to run on, than we did at Commerce.

Again, I see both sides. Twiggs seems to have been condemned before the fact, which doesn't seem right. But on the other hand, from past experiences, my crew (and others) simply didn't want to take the chance yesterday.

Too bad, either way you look at it. Essentially, I feel bad for the track and Dixie too. There must be a solution to things like this, especially when it can keep Dixie from racing.

Btw; Saturday there were no issues, the concerts didnt start drawing any form of a real crowd until the end of the night.
