All runs will only be valid for qualifying if the attempt is made in your pairing as drawn or completed ASAP during qualifying. If the tree is activated, this is considered a run. If a driver has a problem and backs out of the beams before the tree is activated it will not count as an attempt and will be considered as aborted if unable to re-stage in a timely manner. Approvals of all aborted re-attempts are subject to member review for validity.
  • Numbers will be drawn prior to the first round of qualifying to determine the qualifying order. Odd numbers run left lane and even numbers run right; vice versa for second round.
  • DPMA uses the same pro qualifying ladder as IHRA and NHRA events with cars pairing up for elimination as follows; 1/8, 2/7, 3/6, and 4/5. (This ladder will be adjusted in the same format for a 16 car field.)

                                                               Break Rules

  • If a qualified competitor is unable to make eliminations due to breakage the ladder will be adjusted allowing the next capable un-qualified car to move up to the 8th position, adjusting the ladder accordingly.
  • The car moving into the 8th position will receive $100.00 of qualifying money which was earned by the broken car during qualifying.
  • If a car breaks during elimination, that driver’s competitor who was previously eliminated may return to competition in the broken competitors’ spot; if unable, the fastest competitor from the previous round may re-enter. The car that was broken, will receive all the round money and points for that round, the car that re-enters the race will receive all monies and points for future round advancement.
